ROCKAWAY, NJ - Wednesday, June 16, 2010  -- Today, after six long years filled with lots of frustration, tears, anxiety, fear and despair, SS Peter & Paul Church finally closed out the sale of excess parish land with the Borough of Rockaway.  The land was purchased using a $1Million Open Space Grant with funds made available from Morris County and the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA).  The land will be preserved as Open Space for recreational purposes and there will be no development of this parcel which borders the vital Rockaway River.  The money from the sale will be used to build a new parish rectory and create an endowment for the parish as it looks to the future.
